This is a temporary, grant-funded, part-time position that reports to the Coordinator of College for Life and is located at JWCC 1301 S. 48th Street, Quincy, IL  62301.

Job duties focus on core curriculum development and adapting the core curriculum to distance learning.  Curriculum development includes reviewing the core curriculum sequence, expanding work preparedness instruction, utilizing Guided Group Discovery (a customized employment process) and creating detailed lesson plans for both classroom and online delivery.  This person may also assist with program support on campus, including teaching classes (both classroom and online) and addressing the needs of students and instructors.

Work will start immediately and continue until the funds are depleted or the grant period ends on June 30th, 2021, whichever comes first.  The remaining funds should support this position through January 2021 or June 2021, depending on hours worked. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The best candidate will have experience with special education, adult disability services, vocational education, curriculum development, and/or distance learning.

Bachelor's degree preferred. Proficiency with MS Office; ability to become proficient in Canvas and other technology components of the job; excellent written and verbal communication skills; organizational skills; flexibility; and creative thinking is required. Experience working with students or adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities (IDD) and a passion for the full community inclusion for people with IDD is required.
