College for Life Instructor

This is a part time Instructor position in the College for Life Department in Quincy, IL. This position reports to the College for Life Coordinator. Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:30-3:30 when classes are in session. Position begins Fall semester 2023.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will design and instruct CFL courses with a variety of teaching strategies, establish positive relationships and open communication with students and families, and assist in program development. Other job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Design curriculum aligned with CFL program goals
• Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Implement CFL principles, processes, and policies as directed
• Maintain a positive academic environment
• Maintain accurate records
• Encourage appropriate college behavior
• Foster student independence and social engagement on campus
• Cover for other Instructors in the event of an absence
• Facilitate students' social growth and soft skills development

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience with curriculum, lesson design, and teaching diverse learners is required.

The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills; have a commitment to inclusion and respect for students with disabilities; work as a member the team; and have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Canvas, MS Office, plus the ability to learn assistive technology is recommended.

Master's degree preferred, but not required. Must be willing to obtain added training if needed.
