Custodial Maintenance Technician

This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt position that reports to the Manager of Grounds and Building Services and is located on JWCC's WDC campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins immediately.

JOB DESCRIPTION The primary responsibility is to provide housekeeping and cleaning services. This position must ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Following workplace safety guidelines is required. Duties will include general housekeeping including ability to sanitize, dust, sweep, mop, wipe, vacuum, refill inventory locations, and gather and dispose of trash and recyclables. Must be able to run a floor scrubber and be able to maintain the cleanliness of the floors. Will also be responsible for maintaining the outside appearance of the facility. This will include picking up trash, light mowing and weed eating, weed pulling, washing windows, etc. Additional duties may include assisting with snow removal, setting up for special events, and tending to various facility needs as they arise.

QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma or equivalent is recommended. One year or more of custodial experience is preferred. Must be able to lift as needed and have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Duties require the ability to work independently. Must be able to problem solve and communicate effectively with supervisor when needs arise.
