Head Women's Softball Coach

The Head Softball Coach is responsible for the softball program in the highly competitive National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) women's softball program. Recruiting student athletes, coordinating practices and activity travel, and in promoting events and activities. This is on the John Wood Community College (JWCC) campus in Quincy, Illinois and requires travel. Position begins upon availability and ends June 30, 2024. Contract is renewable.

ABOUT JWCC
John Wood Community College is home to seven intercollegiate athletic programs, three men's and four women's teams that compete in Region 24 of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Mid-West Athletic Conference (MWAC). In addition, eSports has been added in the Fall of 2020 to the athletic department.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Applicants should possess softball strategy knowledge and a solid ability to teach and communicate this knowledge. Other duties include but are not limited to; classroom/academic management, NJCAA regulations, statistical management, in-season/off-season training, public relations, instructional camp and clinic instruction, and fundraising. Additional duties on campus are possible.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution of higher learning recognized by the US Department of Education, preferred. Master's Degree required for teaching.
Experience coaching and/or playing softball.
Prior college coaching experience preferred.
Valid driver's license and the ability to be insured to drive college vehicles required.
