Part-Time Help Desk Technician

This is a flexible, part-time, non-exempt position that reports to the Assistant Director of Information Technology and is located at the main campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins immediately.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position provides first-tier technical support to the college's computer users. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, basic troubleshooting of issues, password resets, creating and assigning of trouble tickets to IT staff, ad hoc data entry for various departments, and controlling the flow of physical traffic into the IT department.

Schedules will be assigned between the hours of Monday thru Thursday 8:00am and 5:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 12:00pm. We will work with your schedule when possible.

QUALIFICATIONS

A High School Diploma or equivalent is recommended, CompTIA A+ Certified Professional or equivalent certification is a plus but not necessary. This position requires strong customer services skills; attention to detail; organizational skills; the ability to work with limited supervision, independently, and as a group; and the ability to communicate configurations, instructions, and incident resolutions. Knowledge of computer software, especially operating systems, and audio/video experience is a plus.
