Part-Time Instructor for Adult Education

This is a part time, non-exempt instructor position in the Adult Education Department for classes in fall semester starting immediately in Quincy, IL. This position is a non-tenure track serving in a temporary or auxiliary capacity to teach specific courses on a course-by-course basis.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Teach Adult Basic Education and GED preparation courses using instructional methods geared toward the adult learner in a classroom setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and Implement curricula and lessons based on the learning needs of students at various skill levels in preparation for high school equivalency testing and /or enhancement of basic education skills.
• Assess student progress and adapt instruction to diverse adult learners.
• Provide support to help adult learners achieve their educational and career objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field required.
• An understanding of adult learning theories and the ability to adapt teaching methods to adult learners' individual needs.

Work Schedule:

• Classes meet Monday and Wednesday mornings from 9:00am – 12:00pm at Bella Ease and Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the JWCC main campus.

SALARY:

• This position has an estimated hourly range of $25.00 - $26.00 per hour.
